Youth Orchestra Concert Will Live Stream on Sunday, May 2

The San Juan Symphony Youth Orchestra students have been safely rehearsing at the La Plata County Fairgrounds throughout the 2020-21 season. Since live audiences are not permitted at this time. the SJS will live-stream the Youth Orchestra year-end concert from the stage at the Community Concert Hall this Sunday, May 2. The concert will begin at 1:30 pm and may be accessed for free at https://vimeo.com/536552714.
The Junior Orchestra under the direction of Molly Jensen will perform the Radetzky March by Johann Strauss, Aragonaise from Carmen by Georges Bizet, Balletto from Ancient Airs & Dances by Ottorino Respighi, and Gliere’s Russian Sailors’ Dance.
The Youth Orchestra under the direction of Sayra Siverson will perform Bizet’s Carmen Suite No. 1, American Landscape by Soon Hee Newbold and selections from Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story.
The SJS Youth Orchestra Program is generously sponsored this season by Alpine Bank, Ballantine Family Fund, Durango Friends of the Arts, Durango Joe’s, LPEA, La Plata Cares/Local First, and New Mexico Arts.
