Beyond the Concert Hall

About Beyond the Concert Hall

Following the historic merger of 3rd Ave Arts with the San Juan Symphony in 2023, our “Beyond the Concert Hall” events have expanded our Symphony subscription season. The events presented under Beyond the Concert Hall banner include Solo Recitals by our Guest Artists, the Chamber Music Series and Summer Festival, the SJS Chamber Singers, the Durango Bach Festival, and more.

The SJS Chamber Singers

The San Juan Symphony Chamber Singers are the choral arm of the Symphony, bringing together dedicated community voices from across the Four Corners region. Under the direction of Amy Barrett, the ensemble performs a wide range of repertoire—from timeless choral masterworks to contemporary selections—celebrating the power and beauty of the human voice. The Chamber Singers enrich the Symphony’s season with concerts of their own and collaborations that highlight the harmony of voices united in song.

Durango Bach Festival

For more than 15 seasons, the Durango Bach Festival has served as a community-wide celebration of the music of Johann Sebastian Bach (1685-1750). Now proudly presented by the San Juan Symphony, the Bach Festival promises a blend of Baroque music and ensemble combinations, from solos to concertos and the voices of the SJS Chamber Singers.

This season, The Durango Bach Festival presents “Mostly Mozart 2026” from March 8-14, 2026. For the first time in our history, the festival will focus the majority of the performances on a different master composer, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
