SJS Music Director Dr. Thomas Heuser leads a unique Lecture Recital that illuminates the life and musical personality of Czech composer Antonín Dvořák. Several musicians will perform excerpts from a variety of works that showcase the brilliance, authenticity, and lyricism of the great composer. Bohemian stylistic influences and Dvořák’s embrace of diverse cultures will be explored, and with his Seventh Symphony still ringing in our ears after recent SJS performances, the music of Antonín Dvořák will be brought into a new light.
